Chromecast can now play embedded YouTube videos on your TV (from TheVerge)

YouTube now allows Chromecast users to send embedded videos to their televisions without needing to mirror the entire browser tab the video is shown in. Previously, only videos shown on YouTube’s homepage had native support for Google’s internet-to-TVdongle: users who wanted to play embedded clips would have to use the device’s tab casting feature. Android Police says the update, spotted in a revised support document, is now available for “virtually all videos” — reportedly barring some private, live, and non-mobile videos — and is activated by clicking on the Chromecast icon in the bottom right of the embedded video player.
